I have always been passionate about exceptional coffees. I can still recall partaking of particular coffees in my youth that stood out to me as being exceptional. While living in Europe I was introduced to a quality of coffee unlike any I’d experienced here at home. Upon returning, I began a quest to find the same quality coffee here that I’d experienced there, the perfect cup of coffee, if you will. Over the course of several years my quest took me from coffee shop to coffee shop, and many different varieties of beans. I began to grind my own beans, I tested a variety of coffee makers and even experimented with different methods of brewing coffee. During this time I, like many others, frequented national coffee chains, but my quest was never quite satisfied.

Finally my quest led me into the world of roasting. I began roasting beans myself and the freshness and boldness of taste was a breathtaking improvement on anything I’d experienced on my journey toward the perfect cup. I began to research the characteristics of coffee raised in different regions of the world, and armed with a basic knowledge, I began to experiment with blends. My experimentation led to a blend that I believed to be perfect, and which I now share with you. Today the Monk's Blend is enjoyed by coffee lovers on both coasts of the United States and is our biggest seller.
